(6) If Government quarters are provided an economic rent to be
charged as determined by Government, not exceeding 12% of your salary for unfurnished and 13% for furnished quarters. If Government quarters are not available a rent allowance to be paid to you while your family are resident in the Colony,
this rent allowance provided you rent a separate tenement

to be equivalent to the amount by which a certain fixed maximum rent exceeds 12% of your salary. On a salary of £700 or less this maximum rent is at present $150 a month, and $175 in the case of salaries over £700 and not exceeding
£1,100.
(7) First class passages (for yourself and for your wife and
children not exceeding four persons besides yourself) to the United Kingdom to be provided on the termination of the agreement. Should your appointment be confirmed on the expiration of the agreement you would, subject to the exigencies of the Service, be eligible, under present
regulations, for full pay leave and return first class
passages after a total of four years' resident service from
date of first appointment on agreement.
(8) Appointment to be subject to your passing a medical examinat-
ion.
If you are prepared to accept appointment on these terms please present yourself for medical examination at the Queen Mary Hospital with the attached form, and notify me in writing of your
acceptance of these terms.
I shall be glad if you will at the same time inform me when it will be possible for you to report for duty in this
Department.
